What is the Aspen Spinous Process Fixation System

The Aspen Spinous Process Fixation System brings together the best of all worlds as a minimally invasive alternative to pedicle screws. The Aspen Spinous Process Fixation device delivers posterior stabilization and renewed anatomical alignment. Used as a compliment to interbody fusion and posterior fusion with decompression treatment from T1-S1, providing an alternative to pedicle screws. The Aspen Spinous Process Fixation device is delivered through a minimally invasive incision which results in quicker recovery and return to daily activity.

Leading spine surgeons, like Dr Fadi Bejjani, at Advanced Minimally Invasive surgery, continue to evolve spine surgery techniques. Who is the Aspen Spinous Process Fixation System for?

The Aspen Spinous Process Fixation System is designed for people with degenerative disc disease and/or spondylolisthesis in the lumbar spine (low back).  It is less  invasive than a pedicle screw fusion system, which is the most common for achieving a fusion. The Aspen spinous process fixation system is easy to implant, which means that the procedure can be performed day in and day out. You are walking out of our office on your own.
